Chancy Walters, 38, born and raised in Southern Iowa. A jack of all trades in the outdoors – full time wildlife artist, entrepreneur, owner of Crank Wraps lure customization and Big Buck Ruiner cedar cover spray, hunter and personality for Whitetail Adrenaline, all while chasing my lifelong dream of a professional bass angler. I started fishing farm ponds with my father, which lead to throwing a bait caster and an obsession of my Bassmaster magazine subscription all before I was 8 years old. When I was 12, I fished my first tournament against 50 boats and took 1st place, winning the Bassmaster Casting Kids competition. That is the moment that it all clicked – all I could think about was bass fishing, which led me to saving every dollar I could scrounge to purchase my first boat at 14. I fished local and regional tournaments for many years, learning along the way and honing in my skills to get me to where I am today. This will be my 4th year fishing the Bassmaster Opens, and I am determined to qualify for the Elite series.
